  Know your houses of
wealth
There is a logical co-relation between an individual’s
horoscope and his economic condition
Man by nature wants a comfortable life. Comfort is possible
only if you have resources and security available to you, and
wealth is the biggest factor that makes these things available
to you. That is why wealth plays an important part in our life
and will continue to remain so.
According to Indian thinkers, wealth is the physical form of
Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, which provides us all comfort
of life. That is why all human beings, poor or rich, educated
or illiterate, want goddess Lakshmi’s blessings as it can
reverse peoples’ fortune. According to Vedic philosophy, god
has tremendous potential to perform the acts that are doable,
not doable, and things that are beyond imagination. Wealth has
almost similar capabilities because it can give shape to
things that are possible, difficult, and beyond imagination.
So, its utility and importance to human life is well proven.
Keeping in mind these things, Indian thinkers have probably
incorporated it as one of the four purushartha (dharma, artha,
kama and moksha).
Houses of wealth
Seers, who propounded the theory of astrology, have logically
established the co-relation between an individual’s horoscope
and his economic condition. According to Maharshi Parashar,
lagna, fifth and ninth bhav (house), being the place of
Lakshmi, is considered good for wealth.
Lagna signifies strength, fifth house signifies intellect, and
ninth house signifies fate. An individual’s fate and a
combination of strength, wisdom, and luck earn wealth. That is
why Maharshi Parashar has termed these three houses good for
wealth.
Fourth and tenth houses are helpful in accumulation of wealth.
Fourth house signifies one’s willpower and tenth house
signifies his duty and honesty. These two traits are again
considered helpful for earning wealth as it is earned through
will power and honesty.
Besides this, two other houses of the horoscope are also
important for evaluating an individual’s economic condition.
They are ekadash (eleventh house) and dwitiya (second house).
The eleventh house is considered good for making profit and it
is taken into account while evaluating the amount of wealth.
The second house is taken into account while evaluating the
stability of wealth or savings.
Houses that cause hindrance
Besides this, bhavas that are responsible for causing
hindrances in earning wealth are also taken into account while
evaluating prosperity or poverty in life. These are the sixth,
eighth, and twelfth houses. Sixth house indicates enemy and
debt, eighth house indicates untoward incident, and twelfth
house signifies expenses and loss. Besides this, marak bhav,
which kills dynamism in your life, is also considered a
restraining factor. That is why the sixth, eighth, twelfth and
marak bhavas are negative factors in wealth creation.
So prediction of an individual’s prosperity or poverty is done
on the basis of the above-mentioned houses, swami grahas (lord
planets) and their yuti (combination), drishti (aspects) and
strength.
Yog evaluates economic conditions
Maharshi Parashar has mentioned about bahudhani yog in the
second chapter of his book Madhya Parashari, which evaluates
an individual’s economic condition. In today’s context, people
born in these yogs are seen to be quite wealthy. The yogs
falling into this category are:
-
Sagittarius
or Pisces should be in the ninth position and Jupiter or
Venus should be there with the fifth lord (Panchamesh).
-
Fifth house
should have either Gemini or Virgo containing Mercury and
Mars in the position of gain.
-
Fifth house
should have Taurus or Libra and should contain Mercury and
Venus. Saturn should be in the position of gain.
-
Sun should
be in Leo in the fifth house and Jupiter in the position of
gain.
-
Saturn
should be in Capricorn or Aquarius in fifth house and in
combination with the lord of gain.
-
Jupiter
should be in Sagittarius or Pisces in fifth house and
combined with ninth lord.
-
Moon should
be in Cancer in the fifth house and Mars in the eleventh
house.
-
Sun should
be in Leo in the first house and in combination with Mars or
in aspect by it.
The
above-mentioned yog is the only direction for evaluation of an
individual’s economic condition. It is necessary to take into
account the six yogs to decide about an individual’s
prosperity or poverty. These are the dhanwan yog, raj yog,
viprit raj yog, daridri yog, reka yog, and bhikshuk yog.
The world is constituted of paradoxes. That is why incidents
like sorrow and happiness, profit and loss, victory and defeat
take place simultaneously. Thus, while evaluating the results
of the yogs, all their aspects should be considered.
Venus accountable
for Indian economy boom
By K N Rao
A nation has a horoscope just like an individual has one.
Planets bring hope and dispair for the country
A nation has a horoscope just like an individual has one. A
dasha is also applicable to it. Dasha signifies some
tendencies and represents some professions. Even if one does
not know much about astrology, one can, as a keen observer of
the Indian socioeconomic scene, observe the miraculous
transformation of the Indian economy since 1989 when the
20-year Venus dasha started in the Indian horoscope.
What does Venus represent in astrology? Venus (Shukra)
signifies happiness from sex life, beauty, pleasant and love
talk, enjoyment, indulgence in amorous sports, income, good
clothes, marriage, one who attaches great importance to sex,
computer, fashion, hotel industry, etc.
ALL DUE TO VENUS
Venus has a predominant influence on the Indian horoscope.
Some time back, we held a seminar on Indian horoscope and the
mahadasha of Venus beginning from 1989. The seminar concluded
that the significance of Venus would manifest in various ways.
Since 1989 women have come to the forefront as never before
paving the way for social acceptance of women in all walks of
life. This became possible due to the booming popularity of
television, which also represents the Venus. Indian women did
well in beauty pageants with six of them becoming Miss Worlds.
We have several women chief ministers and other powerful women
leaders in Indian politics.
The dasha of Venus fuelled prosperity, which led to the growth
of 'neo-rich' section of society. Another development was the
coalition governments, which were unable to check rampant
corruption. This led to fast moral decline in society.
In the IT industry, Venus represents computers that gave India
a prominent place in the world. Venus dasha popularised the
computer and the internet, although uncontrolled pornography
has become available with these. Two of the ominous spiritual
pitfalls always have been money and sex, kamini and kanchan as
Ramakrishna Paramhamsa called them.
Rise of women in the world of fashion, cinema, television and
other fields led to a new trend of liberty, which brought
economic freedom for them. This was also possible due to
Venus. When young girls come to me for consultation, they
often ask me if they would get famous and rich. This was
unheard of some time back. In this male dominated world, women
have made a place of their own.
Venus in the third house has made the nation hard working.
Today people are more ambitious and hardworking. They are more
conscious about their career and health.
Lagna rahu and Jupiter in Venusian rashis and four
planets—Sun, Moon, Saturn, and Mercury are doing satsang with
Venus in the house of preaching.
The most distinct influence of Venus can be seen in the
growing boom in the field of beauty and fashion. Increasing
number of people are studying subjects like fashion designing,
hotel management, etc and taking up jobs in these areas.
However, this has thrown a new challenge for the astrologers,
as these new subjects cannot be seen so clearly from the
traditionally approved houses, particularly the fifth.
SATURN AND VENUS SO CLOSE?
In India's horoscope one point always appeared painful to me.
Saturn in karka is at 20/28 and Venus at 22/33, so close and
moving into the same navamsha, in Saturn's! Worse still, they
move into Saturn's trimshamsha.
An astrological anticipation gets translated into a historical
inevitablility. The number of people dying and rendered
homeless by a tsunami may be 50,000. Think of the number of
people suffering from AIDS with India becoming the third
country in the world.
DEADLY DANCE OF KETU
Due to the ketu mahadasha from 1982 to 1989, the country
witnessed the deadly dance of war. There was a rise in
terrorism during that period affecting national security. The
mahadasha of Venus released the suppressed libido of the
nation that was suppressed for ages. The terror-producing ketu
with Mars aggravated the trend where sex is given a lot of
prominence.
SUN COMES WITH HOPE
I tell young people who believe in the higher values of our
tradition to wait for the mahadasha of the Sun, the years of
glory for India. Venus has brought prosperity, and has changed
our value system. So after the mahadasha of Venus, the Sun
will shed its bright light on us. However, during the
mahadasha of Venus, the helpful aspect of Jupiter plays its
role on this Saturn-gripped Venus. I tell people not lose head
in the economic boom visible in the antardasha of Mercury.
History will move in cycles.
