Prayer is the tuning of our mind, our personality, our understanding of ourselves to God, or the divinity within us.
The National Institute of Health in Britain, recently conducted a research study by carrying out 42 different types of tests on 1,26,000 persons. The research team arrived at the conclusion that “if you wish for a happy and healthy life, visit a spiritual center and pray”. The chief coordinator of the study, Dr. Maclog was of the opinion: “Spiritually inclined people find their way through even in the tensest of situations. They, of course, receive divine inspiration and guidance to take difficult circumstances and unhappiness. This is to help them lead a healthy life”.
Physician and researcher Larrty Dossey, in his book, ‘Healing Words: The Power of Prayer and the Practice of Medicine’ scanned over 300 studies that have been conducted worldwide including some at Harvard, Stanford and Princeton Universities. Most of these showed that praying can have dramatic healing effects.
